Introduction

SAFEMEAT is a partnership between the Australian meat and livestock industry and state and federal governments.

Members of SAFEMEAT include representatives from the Australian Meat Industry Council, Cattle Council of Australia, Sheepmeat Council of Australia, Australian Lot Feeders’ Association, Australian Livestock Exporters’ Council, Australian Government Department of Agriculture and Water Resources, Fisheries and Forestry, the Australian Chief Veterinary Officer, the Chief Executive Officer of each State/Territory Department of Agriculture/Primary Industries and the Chief Executive Officer of each State/Territory Meat Industry Authority (or equivalent body).
